Women of Peace hosted the annual fall retreat “Time for a Tune Up” at Viking Bay Resort on Lake Miltona, and hosted the annual Christmas Tea “Ring Out the News” in the Fellowship Hall at Peace. We meet at 8:30am on the second Wednesday of each month for Bible Study and to work on mission projects for Global Health Ministries such as rolling bandages, sewing back packs and pillowcase dresses, and assembling school kits and personal care kits. Quilters meet on the fourth Wednesday of each month to make quilts for Lutheran World Relief. All women are welcome to attend.
Altar Guild. A group of 8 women tend to the needs of worship, pertaining mainly to the communion meal. The group takes turns with monthly duties of keeping the candles full of oil, communion towels clean and ready, wine/juice and wafers supplied as needed. The group meets a few times per year to update tasks and assign months of responsibility. The group welcomes new members to join this venture.
Chick Adventures began in 2012 as a group for young woman interested in Christian fellowship adventures. The ELCA provides recommended activities and discussion topics, and the sponsored program seeks to target women in their 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s.
Some of the most recent Chick Adventures have included potluck meals, movie screenings, and book discussions. The group meets on the first and third Mondays of every month. During winter months, the gatherings are typically held in the Fellowship hall. Summer events may be offsite. For more details about upcoming events, call the church office 320-685-7656.
